Manitoba Mature Student Diploma
In Manitoba, students over the age of 19 who have not yet earned a high school diploma have the opportunity to complete a Mature Student Diploma. This diploma is recognized as equivalent to a regular high school diploma and provides a flexible pathway to graduation.
The Mature Student Diploma requires a total of 8 credits: 4 credits at any level from Grades 9–12, and 4 credits at the Grade 12 level. Of the Grade 12 credits, one must be English and one must be Math.
What many people don’t realize is that previously earned high school credits can often be transferred and applied toward the 8-credit requirement. In some cases, this means a student may need to complete as little as one additional course to graduate.
